    When do I need to pay for my car rental?

    If you book online, you can either pay now or when you collect your hire vehicle.

    If you prefer, you can pay at the hire station. When you collect your vehicle we’ll swipe your credit card to gain authorisation for the full hire cost, any extras and the excess amount, depending on your choice of insurance. We won’t take full payment until you return your vehicle.

    Don’t forget to review the terms and conditions when you book, which include everything you need to know ahead of your journey.
  • How much is the excess charge?

    How much is the excess charge?

    The excess is the amount you pay if something goes wrong during your journey. For example, if you have an accident. The amount you pay depends on the vehicle you hire and whether you choose to reduce the excess by upgrading your level of cover.

    The excess charge with no coverage: up to DKK 20.000
    The excess charge with CDW: Up to DKK 6.000
    The excess charge with SCDW: Up to DKK 500

    How much do you block on my credit card?

    If you already pre-paid the estimated rental amount, we place a hold of DKK 2.500 on your card to cover the cost of any extras, fuel and services you didn’t pay upfront, and the excess amount, depending on your choice of insurance, either DKK 6.000 or DKK 500.

    If you chose to pay when you return your hire vehicle, we will hold the full cost of the hire against your credit card plus extras and the excess amount.
  • When will the security block be released?

    When will the security block be released?

    Between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on the bank that issued your credit card and/or if there is a damage issue.
    Maximum it can take up to 4 weeks.

    What do I need to rent the vehicle?

    A drivers license held for a minimum of one year, and you must be at least 21 years of age.

    A credit card.

  • How do I pay for the toll roads/sub-sea tunnels?

    How do I pay for the toll roads/sub-sea tunnels?

    The cost for driving through the subsea tunnels is DKK 100 per drivethrough.

    Toll road charge will be added to your rental bill and shall not be paied at a gasoline station.
    Even if still paied at a gasoline station, it will be added to your bill and not refunded.

  • I want to return my hire car later than agreed, is that ok?

    I want to return my hire car later than agreed, is that ok?

    We understand you might get delayed, so we try to be flexible.
    If you’re running late or need to extend your car rental - do make sure you contact us as soon as possible.

    Should you return the vehicle late - without notifying us or extending your hire - you may be subject to a late return fee.

    How is a late return fee applied?

    • If you overrun past your agreed return date and time, you will incur a late return fee
    • If you still haven't returned the vehicle 24 hours later, then another late return fee will be applied
    • A late return fee will continue to be added every 24 hour period thereafter, until you return the vehicle to the rental station

    Please note, if you return your vehicle after the agreed date and time, you will pay an additional days rental charge - plus a late return fee for each day that you are late.

  • Can I choose a specific vehicle?

    Can I choose a specific vehicle?

    Unfortunatly not. You choose a car group, not a specific make or model. We’ll show you an example from that group to give you a clear idea of the type of vehicle you will get.

    Remember to book at least 24 hours before your journey so we can assure a prepared car for you
  • Can I add an additional driver to my rental?

    Can I add an additional driver to my rental?

    Yes, the additional driver charge is DKK 150 per additional driver. The additional driver must meet the same requirements as the renter.
  • Can I return the vehicle to a different location than rented from?

    Can I return the vehicle to a different location than rented from?

    Yes, one-way rental is possible between our stations at Vagar Airport and Tórshavn only.
    The one-way rental fee is DKK 600.
  • Will the vehicle come with a full tank of fuel?

    Will the vehicle come with a full tank of fuel?

    Yes, all our hire cars come with a full tank of fuel. You have two options for returning your car.

    Choose from:

    1. Bring Back Full: Return your hire car with a full tank of fuel, and we will of course not charge you for fuel.
    2. Pay On Return: If you don’t return your hire car full, we can refuel it when you bring it back. But this is the most expensive option, DKK 20 + 25% tax per liter.
